Performs more complex administrative activities including managing projects, composing letters and reports, preparing/editing presentations, and recommending or making purchase decisions.

Has intermediate to advanced computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, and basic presentation or database applications.
Provides assistance, training to other administrative staff, may supervise other staff.
Includes frequent/continual contact with customers and executives.
Possesses strong interpersonal skills, leadership, negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills.
May also possess specialized industry skill/knowledge or knowledge of foreign languages.
Responsible for creating cost efficient schedules by accurately backfilling employees to ensure schedules are completed according to department specific union work rules, labor laws, and department core staffing guidelines in a multi-skill, multi-site scheduling office.
Creates and makes recommendations to workforce management team on short-term staffing needs to achieve maximum efficiency of productivity.
Consistently documents shift offerings, staff responses, and staff call-outs to ensure information is accurately recorded and required follow-up is shared with co-workers and managers.
Daily data entry into tracking logs which may be used to create Excel pivot tables of key information required to ensure accurate backfill and/or reporting on hours worked by staff type is also required.
Must become familiar with both staffing system used by schedulers and module used by staff entering staffing requests.
May train staff on using web module to request shifts and/or time off.
Performs other related duties and assignments as required and as assigned by their Manager.
Highly collaborative individual with ability to influence others and build strong professional relationships.
Top 3-5 Daily Responsibilities:
Complete urgent backfill (i.e. same-day sometimes w/in 2 hrs-2 days of shift start time) for lab assistants at 10 locations documenting calls
Complete backfill to ensure schedules are complete 2-4 weeks in advance.
Complete reports and respond to manager requests as needed
Familiarity with efficient staffing of a department with core shifts that cannot have vacancies
Familiarity with Union contract language strongly preferred
Experience using Lawson Workforce Management PS3 staffing system
