Justine Horner has been working with the ICONMA team for over a year as one of our recruiters. As a part of her job, she works with potential job candidates to help our clients fill positions at their companies. Here is a look into her daily work responsibilities and some advice for those looking for new job opportunities.
What does a typical day look like?
A typical day for me as a recruiter with ICONMA is fast paced, and exciting! There’s always something to work on, and you never know what can come out of your day.
As long as you stay positive, I find it very motivating to find the perfect candidate for an open requisition – before our competitors do. Typically, my day is full of scheduled, and non scheduled, calls with my current or potential candidates. I always find it important to build relationships and check in with my current workers to ensure that their job is going well, too. It’s nice to keep connections alive and build that bond with them for the future.
What do you love about your job?
I love the hustle of my job as a recruiter. I love to work with a sense of urgency and fill our open jobs with hard working and qualified workers! I love finding people their next position and having it be the perfect fit – even if we have to wait some time. Keeping in touch for that ideal job opportunity for someone makes all the difference! It’s nice to build friendships and trust throughout this process.
I love delivering the exciting news to somebody that they have received the job offer and can start the onboarding process through ICONMA!
Any advice for job seekers?
If I had to give a few bits of advice to job seekers, it would be to ensure your resume and/or LinkedIn is always accurate with your work history and contact information. Also, be sure to have a professional email address and ensure that your phone’s voicemail is set up, and not full, for calls from recruiters! We are here to help you, but need a way to reach you.
