Nick Mirabile, Vice President of Healthcare Services & Solutions, has been with the ICONMA team for 12 years. On a day-to-day basis, he is responsible for assisting the Delivery Managers and managing and overseeing the recruiting process of the healthcare division. This includes various responsibilities such as developing and implementing recruitment strategies, building, and nurturing client relationships, new business development, analyzing recruitment metrics and SLAs, and assisting in managing the recruiting team.
In honor of National Nurses’ Week this May, we asked him about what it’s like working with our healthcare recruiters and his advice for those looking to break into the industry.
What do you love about your job?
I find great motivation and am very grateful knowing that our work with our clients and the healthcare professionals we place in their facilities make a difference to patients and their families. This is why I love staffing in the healthcare industry specifically.
Why do you enjoy working in the healthcare industry?
This goes hand in hand with why I love my job so much. Working in the healthcare industry just means so much more to me. Knowing that our work has an impact on somebody’s health and well-being is special to me and is a reason to go to work every day.
Any advice for job seekers?
Know yourself and understand your strengths, weaknesses, values, and goals. This will help you identify the type of work you enjoy most and excel at. Even if you already have a career in mind, such as an RN, you still have many different options available to you for specializations. Knowing yourself should help you make the correct choice here. Tailor your resume and customize it to the job you are applying for. Always highlight relevant skills and demonstrate how to add value to that specific job.
